Lockheed Martin Sponsors WaterBotics STEM program at Stevens

Lockheed Martin and the Center for Innovation in Engineering and Science Education at Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken) partnered to introduce 48 boys and girls, ages 9 to 14 to WaterBotics, an underwater robotics program that uses Legos last summer.

WaterBotics was developed by Stevens and first implemented in N.J. classrooms. The program has since been replicated in classrooms in Ohio, Illinois, Texas and Kentucky as part of a $2.5 million National Science Foundation Grant. The program provides hands-on experiences for youth in engineering design, information technology tools and science concepts.
