Diocese of Paterson Expands Pilot iPad Program

Some 350 Students in grade six through eight in the Diocese of Paterson will be receiving iPads through the support of donations and state grants when school resumes this fall, according to John Fanelli, Assistant Superintendant of Technololgy.

This follows a successful pilot program hosted at St. Michael Elementary School of Netcong last year, with participating 8th graders. School staff quickly noticed students reacted with more intensity towards their studies, which led the Diocese to expand the program.

In addition to St. Michael, the iPads will be issued to students at Assumption School of Morriston, St. Pius X School of Montville, St. Patrick School of Chatham and St. Anthony School of Hawthorne. Teachers are creating new lesson plans which take advantage of the tablets.
