AT&T Chronicles Upgrades to Wireless/Wired Networks in NJ
AT&T said it had invested more than $250 million in its wireless and wired networks in NJ during the first half of 2013.
The investments included deploying new macro cell sites, small cells and Distributed Antenna Systems throughout the state.
The upgrades are part of the company’s Project Velocity IP, a three year investment plan announced last fall designed to enhance and expand IP broadband networks.
The company also said it enhanced its 4G LTE network for faster mobile Internet speeds and deployed new WiFi hot spots.
Highlights of network upgrades completed so far this year in New Jersey include:
- Expanded 4G LTE to parts of Monmouth, Ocean, Sussex and Warren counties in northern New Jersey.
- Expanded 4G LTE to Atlantic City, Vineland, Gloucester, Bordentown and southern New Jersey shore points including the communities of Brigantine, Hamilton Township, Longport, Margate City, Mays Landing and Ventnor City.
