Newark Venture Partners Labs introduced the nine companies that will take up residence in its accelerator located in downtown Newark Thursday. The nine are:

  • Alphachannel (https://alphachannel.cc): Alphachannel is a B2B platform allowing marketers to browse, discover, and request branded marketing experiences from top studios.
  • Navinata Health (http://navinatahealth.com/): Navinata Health conveniently educates today’s busy physicians about innovative life saving & life extending therapies
  • Bowtie (https://bowtie.ai/):Bowtie is a plug and play chatbot solution for any business, on any platform.
  • Barkly (http://barkly.us/):Your trusted neighborhood dog walker, anytime you need one.

NJTechWeekly.com has covered Navinata Health at the NJ EDA Founders and Funders event. It started as a Tigerlabs company. We met Dave Einzig of Kidcase at a networking event at Soundboard Angel Group.

Other companies have familiar founders. For example, UpChannel’s David Katsof pitched AppCow at a NJ Tech Meetup in 2015. We’ll have more information on these startups as they progress through the NVP Labs program.

The accelerator is located in a new 25,000-square-foot coworking space in the same building as Audible’s headquarters, in Newark. The building is also occupied by Rutgers Business School, which contributed the space.

The office features a high-style workspace design; ultra-high bandwidth WiFi access; and 10 gigabit fiber-to-desktop, which  is much faster than a standard business-class connection.

NVP Labs brings startups to Newark in the hope that they will chose to stay and grow their companies in the City. The idea was the brainchild of Donald Katz, CEO of Audible.
