State Seeks High-Tech Oversight of $2B Annual Spending on Drug Benefits

Like most health insurance purchasers, the state of New Jersey has been ill equipped to manage the pharmaceutical benefits of public employees and retirees. So, like others, it hired a national expert to handle the complex, multi-party negotiations in hopes of securing big savings for Garden State taxpayers. But quantifying those savings has been challenging.

On November 15, the Rutgers Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CUEED) held its Third Annual Entrepreneurship Awards Ceremony and Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship Program graduation. The event auspiciously coincided with Global Entrepreneurship Week. Two tech entrepreneurs, Clark Lagemann, of MedPro Wellness (Somerset), and student tech entrepreneur Rahul Anand, of The Ideas Maker (Newark), took home awards.

N.J. county teams up with Waze app to help ease traffic

A new partnership between Passaic County and the GPS app Waze looks to ease traffic in the North Jersey area. County Freeholders announced they joined the app's Connected Citizens Program Tuesday. It will allow for an information exchange that will help lead to reduced traffic congestion, according to a press release.
