Busy Week for NJ Tech as Newark Tech Week and Women Entrepreneurship Week Overlap

Newark Tech Week

Newark Tech Week provides an opportunity for all tech-based businesses in Newark to connect and introduce people to the innovation in the city. Newark boasts a number of tech startups that produce ground-breaking ideas. Newark Tech Week’s mission is to showcase these amazing startups and businesses and celebrate Newark’s growth.

Say the organizers. “We understand the power that each tech company in Newark has individually, and now we have a chance to make Newark our stage to show everyone what our tech community is made of. We are Newark, the Silicon City.”

A number of great events will be taking place this week, kicking off with Newark Tech Summit Tuesday evening at 5:30 PM. Some topics to be discussed will be advances in real estate technology, tech’s impact on Newark and cities around the world, and new opportunities for tech entrepreneurs in Newark.

Attendees will have the opportunity to network with each other and exhibitors. NJTechWeekly.com will be among the exhibitors.

Other events range from a Newark Gaming Expo to an innovation talk at NJIT featuring the COO of Oculus VR. Another event will tackle the issue of diversity in fintech. Its organizers say that the current low barrier of entry presents a business opportunity for a community that has been historically underserved and underrepresented in financial services.

For information on all of the events check out the Newark Tech Week site.

Women Entrepreneurship Week

Women Entrepreneurship Week got its start at Montclair State University’s Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship under the leadership of Sharon Waters and Dennis Bone, and now there are events all over the world in 32 countries and 45 states! It truly has become a phenomenon.
