10 Amazing Things You Can Do at Propelify on Oct. 3, and Why You Should Go
Propelify is a business conference that takes place at a festival in Hoboken against the backdrop of New York City, and it should be on everyone’s agenda for October 3.
Who knows? You may get an idea for advancing your business, meet a potential investor or cofounder, learn something you didn’t realize you needed to know or rub elbows with someone whom you can help or who could help you.
I’ve always said that Propelify is worth attending because, as Aaron Price will tell you, it can help propel your business further.
NJTechWeekly.com came up with ten moments you shouldn’t miss next Thursday. And once you experience all of them, plus some networking, you’ll be ready for the fireworks that will light up the Hoboken riverfront at 7:30 p.m.
- Start the day strong with Governor Phil Murphy, who will speak about how we can ensure that New Jersey claims its place in the startup and innovation ecosystem.
- First Lady Tammy Murphy and several female angel investors will discuss how angels are leading the way for women investors. There will also be a “Women in Tech Mentorship Lounge,” where you can drop by during the conference to refuel and network.
- Near the end of the day, catch up with Bobbi Brown, who will share her entrepreneurial journey and talk about wellness and how she continues to hustle.
- Or, at 6 p.m., catch the finale of the startup competition!
- Tech Council Ventures (New Brunswick) will be holding a “Pitch for a Drink” event! If you go up and pitch to them and they find your presentation compelling, they’ll buy you a drink.
- Nokia Bell Labs (Murray Hill) is sponsoring two interactive musical performances, one of them by Reeps One, who’s among the world’s top beat boxing artists. In addition, the International Contemporary Ensemble will offer a digitally enhanced musical performance.
- You can hear famed serial entrepreneur James Altucher talk about how entrepreneurs can improve themselves 1 percent at a time.
- Investor Speed Dating is almost sold out at this point, but if you can get a spot, grab it! This is definitely a highlight of Propelify.
- Cross River Bank (Fort Lee) will be talking about how the future of banking is being built in our own backyard.
- Hackensack Meridian Health will discuss the building of a culture of innovation.
This list doesn’t cover everything at the festival. For example, Dave Sorin, of the law firm McCarter & English (East Brunswick), will be moderating a session on blockchain in fintech, there will be a discussion on why restaurants need to see themselves as tech companies, there will also be a biztech panel on building a data-driven business, and I could go on and on.
