Attention Startup Founders! NJEDA’s Founders & Funders Event is Back!

If you are a startup founder who wants to talk to investors, to get a handle on what they might think of your startup or to get the dialog going towards future financing, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA)  Founders & Funders event is for you.

Back after two years, the June 1 event will match startup founders with investors. Apply here. Our recommendation: Apply as soon as you can because spots go fast.

Companies will be required to submit a one-to-two-page executive summary and proof of registration to do business in New Jersey.

We think this is one of the most impactful events that startup founders in the state can experience.

Founders & Funders is organized by the NJEDA to facilitate warm introductions between innovative emerging New Jersey companies and sophisticated angel and institutional investors. The mission of the event is to help grow the state’s innovation ecosystem.

Past events have featured 20 or more investors engaging with numerous startup founders in 10-minute one-on-one sessions to discuss strategy, business models and funding opportunities.

“We routinely hear from entrepreneurs about how beneficial New Jersey Founders & Funders is to the growth of their companies, in terms of both the connections made and the invaluable feedback received,” said NJEDA CEO Tim Sullivan in a past release.

“Governor Murphy is focused on reclaiming New Jersey’s role as a leader in innovation, and events such as this reinforce the importance of ensuring these young companies have access to the capital and resources they need to flourish,” he added.

Two companies whose meetings with investors at a Founders & Funders event eventually led to financing included Futurestay (New Brunswick) and Malbek (Princeton).
