A Study: Pathways Women Use to Enter the Technology Sector – JSWT #17

May 21 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Join us for “A Study: Pathways Women Use to Enter the Technology Sector” with Elaine Zundl and Sally J. Nadler as they share with us their research findings regarding New Jersey Women in Technology, how their subjects ended up in the field, and recommendations for policies based on the findings.

The New Jersey Council on Gender in Labor and Education commissioned the Center for Women and Work to look into gender and racial disparities in the New Jersey technology sector. The report summarizes interviews conducted in 2018 with 24 New Jersey women about their experience on the pathway to a job in the tech sector. This presentation will include major findings from the report and include policy recommendations for lawmakers, educators, and employers for improving diversity in the technology sector. We will also solicit feedback from the audience on best practices to advance equity.
