Fulop Welcomes AI Startup Wylei to Jersey City with Ribbon Cutting

Wylei Inc, a venture-backed tech startup with 17 employees, cut the ribbon on it headquarters in Jersey City Nov. 25. Jersey City Mayor Steven M. Fulop joined the startup’s leadership team to help welcome the company to Jersey City.
Wylei offers Predictive Intelligence and Adaptive Content using an Artificial Intelligence (AI) machine learning software platform, to enable digital content to automatically assemble itself in real-time for each impression, with “deep and precise predictive intelligence”, the company says.
The company uses its software to personalize email and video. Its Predictive Email product delivers “the best-fit message for each context with cloud-based machine learning.” Its Predictive Video product promises an unprecedented end-to-end personalized video experience.
Bringing Wylei to Jersey City is Meg Columbia-Walsh, its CEO, who was brought in to run the startup. Columbia-Walsh is a well-known serial entrepreneur who has built, bought and sold four companies. She is known for her affiliation with CBSHealthWatch which she founded, sold a percentage to CBS, went to IPO and finally sold to WebMD. Walsh is joined by founding AI technologist Mike Montiero.
Wylei has had investments from Aspire Ventures in Lancaster, PA and Osage Venture Partners in Bala Cynwyd, PA and Princeton. The startup was incubated at the Aspire Venture Labs which specializes in AI companies.
Columbia-Walsh brought Wylei to Jersey City because “I’m a Jersey girl. As an entrepreneur I always went to New York to start my companies, but I really wanted to support New Jersey. I’m also on the board of the Rutgers Business School and I wanted to build this startup in one of the hottest areas in New Jersey. I also wanted easy accessibility to New York talent.”
The headquarters is also in close proximity to major East Coast corporations with which Wylei does business, she noted. Jersey City offers “a fresh and vibrant attitude, along with shops, restaurants, affordable living spaces and many other amenities that fit our company’s culture,” she stated in a release.
Wylei has offices in Lancaster and Buffalo NY, as well as Jersey City.
