Hey NJ Startups! Pitch Investors on a Ski Slope! Yes, That’s a Thing

Want to pitch an investor while you’re both heading to the top of a mountain to ski? Or maybe you want to corner someone while networking at the lodge. Either way, Peak Pitch is a great way for New Jersey tech startups to get in front of VCs and angels in a unique way: while you’re both relaxed and having fun.

This year’s Peak Pitch, held at Mountain Creek Resort, is coming up on February 28 to March 1, 2019. Conceived as an off-site, slope-side, fun-filled networking event, Peak Pitch brings together 50-plus seed and series A investors with 80-plus quality prescreened founders for networking and informal pitches. It’s brought to you by the folks at Newark Venture Partners and Propelify.

The first evening of the event includes activities for investors only, so they can network with each other in the ski-lodge environment. “The next day, we bus up the entrepreneurial community,” said Aaron Price, founder and CEO of Propelify.

“We hold a breakfast, and people can pair up with investors. Then they sit down with them on the way up the ski lift and make their pitch. After they ski down, they find a new investor and pitch again on the way up. This continues until the afternoon, when there is lunch and networking.” The group will head back to the city before the early evening.

Founder applications are now being accepted, and investor slots are almost full. VCs who want in on the fun should email Jennifer@Newark.VC as soon as possible to grab a seat while they still can.
