NJ E-commerce Startups Offer Holiday Deals
As you know, NJTechWeekly is interested in all of our state’s tech startups. However, e-commerce startups don’t often get much coverage here.
So, for the holidays, we’d like to fill you in on what some of these companies are offering. Maybe you’ll choose to shop online in New Jersey and support our startup entrepreneurs.
We apologize for any omissions and will be happy to tweet out any additions.
In alphabetical order:

Craig Caruso, the developer who works out of the (Co)Working Space in Woodbridge, is in charge of the website for Bald Vinny’s House of Tees. He says there are going to be some Black Friday specials here.

Newark entrepreneur Jimi Olaghere told us: “All of our holiday sales will be only on en.geekcook.net. We have a dedicated sales page at en.geekcook.net/holiday. Also, we’re working with our partners doing a bunch of massive sales. Right now we’re on Amazon’s Woot (which at this writing is sold out!)— and we’ll announce which partner we’re working with in December via email. I encourage anyone interested to sign up for our email alerts.”
HarpersLove
HarpersLove is having a pre-holiday sale. The Livingston-based e-commerce startup, which features jewelry designed by the customer, says, “Take 15 percent off all styles site-wide.” On Thanksgiving, users can get a $50 gift card with every purchase and, on Black Friday, 25 percent off site-wide. The sale ends Nov. 27.

According to Andrew Sell, the founder of Hipcycle ( the Jersey Shore-based e-commerce site that features great #upcycled products), the site’s holiday sales will be a surprise, but there will be “a sweet sale” on best sellers.

Hoboken-based MallStand will be offering big holiday discounts, which is normal for the site at this time of year. The company will also be hosting many big holiday giveaway contests as well this holiday season.
Currently, by way of its Twitter account, @MallStand, the company is conducting a #WinAJersey contest for participants to win a free NFL jersey on Twitter. “But starting Thanksgiving week, we will be holding many similar contests with much greater rewards directly from our website,” Sam Gherman, who is in charge of strategic marketing and brand management, told us.
