Sensor Co Gets OK for Hydro Vehicle Sensors

A pressure sensor company located in Mt. Olive, NJ is addressing the market for hydrogen powered vehicles. American Sensor Technologies, Inc. has obtained European approval for two of its sensors. The sensors underwent rigorous safety testing as  required by a European Community Directive, the company said. The approval makes American Sensor Technologies the only supplier of EC79 sensors for hydrogen powered vehicles in the world, a spokesman said.

One of the company’s sensors is used as a component on the hydrogen regulator that controls hydrogen flow to the fuel cell stack. Another approved sensor is typically used on “Class 3” hydrogen tanks on buses, cars, farm machinery and off road vehicles.
