NJ Cyber Attack hits Tridium Energy Management Software

An April 9 Article in CFO World by John P. Mello talks about a previously unreported cyber attack last year on an unnamed manufacturing company in New Jersey.

According to the article “Intruders successfully exploited a credential storage vulnerability in the manufacturer's Tridium energy management software made by Honeywell and identified all the company's Internet facing devices, the agency [U.S. Cyber Emergency Response Team ] reported in the latest edition of its quarterly ICS-CERT Monitor.”

The article pointed out that even a simple change in temperature can be a weapon. If data center temperatures aren’t kept between certain parameters, for example, critical servers can fail.
