New Jersey Tech Startups Well-Represented at NY Tech Day April 25!

NY Tech Day is taking place Thursday April 25 at Pier 92 in NYC. New Jersey will be well represented there among the more than 400 startups, 10,000 attendees, investors, and press.

Here’s our list of N.J. tech companies exhibiting, thanks to the folks at NY Tech Day.

Ocean N.J.-based Hipcycle is an e-commerce site that offers “upcycled products made from repurposed materials via its website at Hipcycle.com.” The startup was founded in May 2011 and the e-commerce site launched the following October.

RentAGizmo is a product of Solution Republic, a tech consulting company in Edison. The company says its mission is to tap into the opportunities available in the peer-to-peer market and provide unique and innovative solutions to make it adaptable to everyone.

Bespoke (Hoboken) is a single platform solution for creatives that simplifies and enhances the experience of creative collaboration, commerce and brand promotion.”If Flipboard and Pinterest had a baby it would be Bespoke social media atelier.”

HarpersLove, from Livingston, is an online custom jewelry website where the customer is the designer. The company and website launched in 2012 and “we are currently in a proof of concept stage with our website.”

Purzue (Woodbridge) says it is the reinvention of the resume. “We transform the traditional resume into an engaging and interactive product optimized for web and mobile. Purzue empowers you to tell a more compelling story by capturing comprehensive data and presenting it in a smart design. “

Meddle (Atlantic Highlands) is a micro-blogging platform targeting professionals and companies who want to showcase their expertise, but don’t have the time or skills to blog. “Instead, we enable users to share excerpts from articles they read. It’s quicker than blogging and more impactful than tweeting.”

Futurestay—which hales from Somerset– lets vacation rental owners instantly create their own “powerful e-commerce websites” for free, then connects them to dozens of popular listing sites.

HomeCanvasr is a real estate platform which allows home buyers to post and advertise themselves to homeowners in their interested areas through websites and social networks.

Giftivo, a site launched last December by Hoboken resident Brett DiDonato, uses social networking profile data to generate personalized gift recommendations via a proprietary algorithm.

Elizabeth-based Refundo’s Mobile App creates “an opportunity to transition millions of underbanked and unbanked households into the financial mainstream by enabling them to open an FDIC-insured bank account using just a smartphone.”

Living Discoveries (Morganville) is an early stage medtech startup dedicated to using the power of data to automatically diagnose and monitor a wide variety of health conditions. A notice on the website said they had ceased operation because they had not been able to secure seed funding.

InkedMatch.com (Toms River) brings tattoo lovers together The best place to find your tattooed soul mate. Also find tattoo models and artists. “Check out designs and show off your latest body art.”

Clifton-based NickelBus—a member of the first TechLaunch class –offers a service that searches thousands of bus schedules, routes, and station locations all over the U.S. to find “the ride that’s right for you…. Select your “Leaving From” and “Going To” points, click “Search,” and you’ll be amazed with the number of travel possibilities.”

Mountables, a N.J. company, says it product is the most convenient and simple way to dock and charge an iOS device. “Simply apply them to any wall using the included damage free Command strips and you are ready to securely dock your device like never before. Mountables are the perfect solution for those who love using their iOS device in bed and would like a convenient dock to mount and charge their device afterward.”
